Pacifico Energy highlights the need for Korea-U.S. collaboration on supply chain and energy security in offshore wind
Pacifico Energy Korea showcased Korea’s offshore wind potential and emerging opportunities for Korea-U.S. collaboration at the “Evolving Energy Forum: Opportunities in the Korea-U.S. Partnership,” hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM), in collaboration with Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), the U.S. Department of Energy, the State of Alaska, and the AMCHAM Energy Committee.
Under the theme “A New Era of Korea-U.S. Cooperation in the Energy Sector,” the forum brought together more than 100 senior government officials and representatives from energy and supply chain companies from both countries. Notable attendees included Ahn Dukgeun, Minister of MOTIE; Mike Dunleavy, Governor of Alaska; Tommy Joyce, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy; James Kim, Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM; and Seung-Ho Choe, Representative Director of Pacifico Energy Korea and Co-Chair of the AMCHAM Energy Committee.

The event began with opening remarks by James Kim, AMCHAM Chairman and CEO, who underscored the tremendous potential of U.S.-Korea energy collaboration in driving both security and innovation. “Energy is emerging as one of the most strategic pillars of U.S.-Korea cooperation,” he said. “Together, the U.S. and Korea have a unique opportunity to lead the world in delivering clean, secure, and sustainable energy solutions that will power the future.”
The event featured sessions on “Energy Policy Strategy and Vision in Korea, “The U.S. Leadership in Global Energy Policy”, and presentations highlighting the projects and expertise of U.S.-based companies in Korea to strength U.S.-Korea energy cooperation. A follow-up panel discussion explored key opportunities in supply chain stability, energy security, and LNG collaboration between the two countries.

In the offshore wind session, one of the key areas of U.S.-Korea energy cooperation, Pacifico Energy Korea spotlighted Korea’s offshore wind momentum and emphasized the importance of a domestic supply chain for energy security in the Asia-Pacific region. As the Representative Director of Pacifico Energy Korea — the first U.S. energy company to enter Korea’s offshore wind market — Seung-Ho Choe delivered his speech titled “The Future of Offshore Wind: The Need for Supply Chain and Energy Security Collaboration.”
Seung-Ho Choe, the Representative Director of Pacifico Energy Korea said, “Energy security is a crucial part for both Korean and U.S. firms given its impact on the clean energy supply chain in the Asia-Pacific region. It becomes imperative for Korean and U.S. companies to continue close collaboration to ensure supply chain stability and contribute to promoting the local supply chain.”
He added, “Korea has world-class manufacturing and industrial base; Korea has a great potential to become a hub of offshore wind supply chain in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. It will drive Korean and U.S. companies including Pacifico Energy to provide unyielding support so that Korean suppliers can expand their market presence in the Asia-Pacific offshore wind market.”
The “Evolving Energy Forum: Opportunities in the Korea-U.S. Partnership” was designed to strengthen U.S.-Korea energy cooperation and promote sustainable growth in the energy sector. This forum holds particular significance as it fosters public-private dialogue between Korea and the United States on key energy-related issues.
